SRF has appeared in the 21st century as a new technology, which prevents the deterioration of RC with flexible and firm wrapping material that does not rip off easily. SRF has been verified by many tests. There are more than construction track record of 1400 cases.

The aim of SRF

For decades, buildings overcrowded in coastal areas and alluvial plain are in damage of deterioration, destructive by earthquakes and Tsunamis. Reinforce concrete, which is widely used in modern cities and infrastructure is not maintenance-free and could easily collapse with the large-scale earthquakes. Entering this century, there has been many earthquake disasters.

SRF survived with slight damage and no collapse in the repeated 7 histrical strong motions.

The Independent Administrative Institution of the National Research Institution for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention, Earthquake Research institue, University of Tokyo, Structural Quality Assurance, Inc. jointly conducted a large scale shaking table test. A Pair of 6-story models each weighing over 40 tons were installed on a shaking table and given actual seismic waves one after another. Reinforced concrete model reached its limit on the third wave (Kobe JMA Observatory) and collapsed on the fourth (the Chile Earthquake). The model building with SRF held up almost with no damage until the JR Takatori Station Earthquake wave, withstanding the Chile Earthquake wave and every other 7 waves in total.
